Maderia 2018

Ok, so I have a problem... Madeira is another place I really liked. Good thing is, that compared to Scotland, I don`t think I could live there. The road, even if not full of cars, are just crazy... Going up and down, turns every 50 meters or streets which are so narrow but yet, local people manage to drive there without issues.

Anyway, Madeira is a wonderful Island full of amazing nature and worth of visiting!

I spent 8 nights there with my cousin, and bellow you can see some of the photos, which I divide into 3 parts: North of the Island, South of the Island and Funchal, the biggest city of Madeira.

Part 1: North of the Island

We spent 3 nights in Porto Moniz, a small city, or you could call it also a village. From there, we could go and visit several places and on the way there we also made some small stops.

Part 2: South of the Island and whale watching

YES!!! I saw whales, even if in the aftermath of the boat ride I spent some time with huge back pain ... but important is that I SAW WHALES! To be more precise we saw sperm whales and pilot whales. Besides that we spent 2 nights in Jardim del Mar, place known mostly for surfers and even during out time there we could see them every evening and morning. I am also adding pictures from the hike to Pico Ruivo, even thought we did the hike when staying in Funchal, It is the highest mountain in whole Madeira and for sure it was worth visiting.

Part 3: Funchal

Our last stop was Funchal, the biggest city here and also place with a marina where one of my favourite ships arrived, Queen Elisabeth. Only ship Queen Mary 2 is higher on my rankings. And it was a nice surprise to see the ship. Only bad side is that it brings around 2000 people into the city.

And a small bonus, these little guys were everywhere....
